  • Who is eligible to join the CTEx program?

    • You are currently an undergraduate student at one of the participating schools above.
    • You are a CS major or CS-adjacent major (eg. Electrical Engineering, Information Systems / Information Technology, Data Science & Statistics)
    • You have completed CS2 / Data Structures before the start of the Spring 2027 semester. Students currently enrolled in Data Structures will be accepted pending successful completion of the course in Fall 2026. Speak with your advisor for course equivalency.
    • You are in good standing with your school - eligible applicants will be vetted by the university before final acceptance
    • You are able to reserve up to 7 credit hours for the program (speak with your advisor on applicability for your university)
    • Taking no more than 11-12 additional credit hours at your home institution during the Tech Exchange semester
    • You have at least four semesters left before graduating

  • What courses can I take?

    There are three courses being offered, and you can enroll in one, two or all three courses depending on your schedule.

    • Introduction to Software Engineering (ISE) with GenAI (3 credits): Team up to build, test, and deploy a full-stack web app from scratch, using Git, databases, and GenAI tools the way professional engineering teams do.
    • Algorithms and System Designs (ASD) (3 credits): Learn to approach difficult coding problems step-by-step using recursion, trees, and graphs, with GenAI as a strategic partner.
    • Careers in Tech (CiT) (1 credit): Get interview-ready through weekly workshops, two mock technical interviews, and panels on resumes, personal branding, and the future of tech careers.

     

  • What is the program structure?

    The virtual program will take place during the Spring 2027 semester.

    ASD and ISE each have two weekly lectures (1h15 each) and a lab (50min), and CiT has one weekly lecture (50min).

  • What is the class schedule for the Algorithms and Systems Design with GenAI course?

    You can choose one of two lecture sections and one of four lab sections:

    Lecture:

    • Section 1: M/W 1:10–2:30pm ET / 10:10–11:30am PT
    • Section 2: Lecture S2: T/Th 3:10–4:30pm ET / 12:10–1:30pm PT

    Lab:

    • Section 1: Thu 1:00–1:50pm ET / 10:00–10:50am PT
    • Section 2: Thu 5:00–5:50pm ET / 2:00–2:50pm PT
    • Section 3: Fri 1:00–1:50pm ET / 10:00–10:50am PT
    • Section 4: Fri 5:00–5:50pm ET / 2:00–2:50pm PT

  • What is the class schedule for the Introduction to Software Engineering with GenAI course?

    You can choose one of two lecture sections and one of four lab sections:

    Lecture:

    • Section 1: M/W 3:00–4:20pm ET / 12:00–1:20pm PT
    • Section 2: T/Th 11:00am–12:20pm ET / 8:00–9:20am PT

    Lab:

    • Section 1: Thu 4:00–4:50pm ET / 1:00–1:50pm PT
    • Section 2: Thu 6:00–6:50pm ET / 3:00–3:50pm PT
    • Section 3: Fri 12:00–12:50pm ET / 9:00–9:50am PT
    • Section 4: Fri 4:00–4:50pm ET / 1:00–1:50pm PT

  • What is the class schedule for the Careers in Tech course?

    You can choose one of two lecture sections:

    • Section 1: Tue 5:00–6:00pm ET / 2:00–3:00pm PT
    • Section 2: Fri 11:00am–12:00pm ET / 8:00–9:00am PT

  • What does the application include?

    A short online application where we verify your eligibility and you can pick your courses.

  • Will I earn credit at my school if I complete one or more CodePath Tech Exchange courses?

    CodePath has partnered with most schools to offer credit upon completion of the CodePath Tech Exchange courses. With that said, you're responsible for confirming credit with your school.

    Talk to your academic advisor or registrar to confirm that you can enroll in CodePath Tech Exchange courses for credit and that they fit your degree plan.

  • I can’t (or don’t want to) earn credit for course completion. Can I enroll in CodePath Tech Exchange courses as extra-curricular?

    Yes, you can enroll in one CodePath Tech Exchange course as an extra-curricular course.

  • Why can I only enroll in one course as extra-curricular?

    The CodePath Tech Exchange courses are demanding and we want to ensure you’re well equipped to be successful in the CodePath Tech Exchange course you take on top of your normal course load.

  • Will I get academic advising or mentorship?

    Yes! You’ll receive support from CodePath instructors and Tech Fellows.

  • I'm an international student. Can I still join the CTEx Program?

    Yes! International students are welcome as long as they meet the criteria above.
