The Challenge

Building Brand Awareness

Many students are eager to work for a FAANG company after graduation, leaving smaller companies like BILL as a second option, even though they offer comparable benefits for job seekers. Hiring early talent can be a challenge when potential candidates are unfamiliar with your brand and do not interact with the tool in their day-to-day.

In order to build brand awareness, garner student interest alongside FAANG companies, and provide underserved Computer Science students with the professional skills they need to land their first technical internship, BILL sponsored the CodePath Internship Connection Program (ICP) and Virtual Career Fair.

Partnering with CodePath gave BILL access to thousands of qualified students from diverse backgrounds.

Breaking Down The ICP

High-level

During the 10 week program, each student received tailored, step-by-step support from an inclusive and diverse community of career coaches, recruiters, and fellow students.

Day-to-Day

Each day, students participated in workshops on professional skills presented by company sponsors

Mentorship

Each student was paired with a dedicated Technical Career Coach, and connected with company partners weekly to engage in exclusive networking opportunities. In 2022, 100% of company sponsors hiring for summer internships invited students from the program to interview.

The Virtual Career Fair

After the breakout success of the ICP, Bill decided to take its partnership with CodePath one step further – becoming a corporate sponsor for CodePath's Virtual Career Fair.

The Virtual Career Fair, now the Emerging Engineers Summit, is the nation’s largest and most diverse event dedicated to reaching and hiring early tech talent – with over 4,000 job-ready Computer Science students and alumni from 400+ universities coming together to connect with potential employers.

When Bill became a sponsor for the event, they unlocked unique opportunities to amplify their brand and products through invite-only networking, sponsored keynotes, workshops, and panels for participants. As a result, the company made itself known as a viable employer passionate about the future of CodePath’s tech talent.
